Happy 7th Anniversary, Nakameguro!!!!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Konnichi wa!!!! Genki desu ka?

Hello!!! How is everyone doing? We are doing fine. Just having fun and keeping busy!!

First, I’d like to say to Nakameguro, HAPPY 7TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Now, I want to tell everyone about our AWESOME service in Nakameguro. It was so WONDERFUL!!!! We got to meet Sister Bobbye Wendell, and we got to see Sister Buster again, who we first met in October at the camp meeting. So, here’s all about Sunday.

First, we met Brother and Sister Yokoyama at the church and they rode with us to Nakameguro for their 7th Anniversary. So we drove the 45 minutes to an hour to Nakameguro and got upstairs and got ready for church. And what was kind of funny was that Brother and Sister Datsomor’s son, Dennis, is back from Vancouver, Canada where he is going to school. So I go sit down and see someone up by Lynda Datsomor playing the bass guitar, but I didn’t recognize him. My mom says, “Is that Dennis?” And I was like, “I don’t know. The picture I saw of him was only his eyes. And he didn’t have glasses on.” But this guy had glasses on. So my mom goes up to him and says, “Are you Dennis”. And he says, “Yes I am” and they start laughing, but I didn’t hear that. So after a few minutes, Lynda and Dennis stop practicing and I’m getting pictures from the back looking over Tokyo. When I turn around, I see this guy walking back toward me. He came over and stuck out his hand and said, “Do you remember me?” I was like, “I think you’re Dennis, but uhmmm, no I don’t remember you”. We both laughed and he said, “Well, it’s been 8 years or more. I can give you that”. I was like, “Yeah, and I was young..er”. Dennis laughed and said, “Okay, I’ll give you that too!’ But it was funny. I told Dennis that I remember people, but not faces. It’s like their faces are fuzzy. But I’ll remember everyone this time!!!

Ok, Now I’ll start showing you pictures.

Here are some pictures looking out over Tokyo from the floor we were on.

Now to get to the food pictures!!! There was SO much food and it was SO good. I told Bernice, “There is nothing to say about the food except that it is pure awesomeness”, She just laughed!! I wonder why she did that?!?!

Here is some Philippino curry (which was awesome!). And everything else I’m just going to have to put on here because I have no idea what any of it is. Well, most of it. If there is something where I know what it is, I’ll tell you!! (: I will say that I didn’t try whatever the second picture is of. My plate was full by the time I got to that.

DSCF0096

The first things here are egg rolls. Those were really good too. And the second thing was good too although I don’t know what it is.

DSCF0098

And this is chicken. This was good as well! And the second thing had these little shrimp in it. I do like shrimp on sushi, but I thought “For now I’ll stick to foods I know!” So I didn’t try that. But what I did try, it was all good!!

Love and miss all y’all!!!

Chi chi no hi omedetto gozaimasu!!

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

First of all, I want to say:

CHI CHI NO HI OMEDETTO GOZAIMASU!!!!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!!

Also, next I would like to say “Welcome back” to Kujo Amoabeng. He is Brother Kwasi and Sister Victoria’s son.  When we were here before, he was like 12 or 13. Now he is 21. I told Bernice that I remember him, but not his face. I remember sitting in Sunday School and him translating for Sally, but I couldn’t remember his face at all, it was just too fuzzy. But anyway, welcome back Kujo. Hope you enjoy your time back home for the summer. For everyone else, here are a couple pictures of Kujo. I cropped a couple of the picture of the congregation to get these. Kujo is in the middle in the black suit. Well, in the second picture he is on he left behind Sister Jackie.

100_4633

100_4634

Now for all the pictures of our Father’s Day service. First, there is just a couple of the congregation.

100_4603

100_4604

Then Brother Daniel leading the main service. And Sister Victoria and Bernice praise singing.

100_4605

100_4607

And here are some pictures of the congregation from the other side by the drums.

100_4609

100_4610

100_4611

100_4612

Then Bernice and Sister Victoria again. And Sister Yokoyama on the piano.

100_4613

100_4615

Another couple of shots of the church.

100_4616

100_4617

100_4619

100_4618

And my dad speaking about the fathers.

100_4621

And then all of our fathers up at the front of the church. I got a few shots of this.

100_4622

100_4623

100_4624

And our oldest father….(drum roll please….)……BROTHER TADASHII YAMAMOTO!!!! And Brother Yamamoto is I think he said 65 years old, or roku-ju-go.

100_4626

And our youngest father (another drum roll)….BROTHER PATRICK LOGAN!!!!! Brother Logan is 34 years old, or san-ju-yon.

100_4628

The newest father (yes you know now, drum roll)…..BROTHER PAUL APEDO!!!! Brother Paul is 43 years old, although he doesn’t look a day older than maybe 30 or latest 35. But yes he is 43 but he has a 7 month old baby which, is beautiful baby Peter.

100_4629

And the father with the most kids….(thank you for the drum roll. How’d you know?)…..BROTHER DANIEL AGYARE!!! He has 5 kids. There are three kids here in Japan; Stephen, who is 8, Priscilla who is, I think 2, and Dixon, who is like 8 months old. He has a 7 year old boy, and a 6 year old boy who are back in Ghana. But hopefully they will be coming here soon.

100_4630

Well, that’s all for now. I hope you all enjoy this. Be sure to wish all the father’s…Chi chi no hi omedetto gozaimasu!! And you have to say it like that. It’s easy just follow along chee chee no he omehdehto gozaimahsu. That’s not how you spell it, but that’s basically how it’s pronounced. Or you could go the easier route and just say Happy Father’s Day. And that’s easy to say, too.You prounouce it like this…

Ok I know all y’all know how to say that. Just trying to see if you’d catch it!!

Okay, well that’s all I have for now. Seriously. In closing, I would like to say Chi chi no hi omedetto gozaimasu, Happy Fathers Day, and welcome back Kujo!!!

Ja mata ne!!!!!

Disuni Shi (a.k.a. Disney Sea)

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Konnichi wa!!! Genki desu ka?

Hello!!! How is everyone doing?? We are all doing fine here.

In this blog entry, as you can tell from the title, is about Tokyo Disney Sea, or as the Nihon-jin (Japanese people) say it, Tokyo Disuni Shi. So here are a BUNCH of pictures from May 29th at the great TOKYO DISNEY SEA!!!!

This is the entrance.

100_4320

And then Beck and Jeremiah. Then Jeremiah a couple more times.

100_4321

100_4322

100_4323

And me and Beck while we’re waiting in line for the gates to open. Then it’s the three of us; Jeremiah, me and Beck.

100_4325

100_4326

Now, I want you to take a look at ALL the people that were there that day. I know from the base, there were, I think, 3 buses.

100_4327

100_4328

100_4329

100_4331

100_4333

And this is part of the Tokyo Disney Sea monorail system, or something like that. It’s kinda cute. I like all this Miki Mausu, (can you figure that one out) windows.

100_4330

And finally, we got through the gate. And here are just some random shots through-out the park. I’ll try to name as much as I can.

This is just in the front where all the stores are.

100_4334

And this is the world. This was kind of cool, too. It sort of looks like it is floating and turning. And then the band that was playing up by the front, probably to attract every-one’s attention.

100_4336

100_4338

And now Pluto. I always loved Pluto. Then a couple pictures of Beck, my mom, and me in front of the “world”.

100_4340

100_4344

100_4345

Then Brother Logan and Jeremiah. Then the sign announcing the Spring Carnival.

100_4347

100_4348

And now, look at all the people!!! There were SO MANY!!! I couldn’t believe it. We were hoping that not many people would be there, but there was a lot. But you’ll really be able to see how many people were there in some later pictures.

100_4349

100_4359

And here is a picture of the outside of one of the rides, Journey to the Center of the Earth, but unfortunately, it was closed for the day for something. I think the castle looking place was where the gondola rides started. But the volcano was where Journey to the Center of the Earth.

100_4354

100_4353

And this is so cute!!! It’s a little boy dressed up like Buzz Lightyear. He’s SO cute!!! The boy, not Buzz!

100_4355

And here are just some random shots from around the front.

100_4356

100_4358

And here are some from where the gondola’s pass through.

100_4363

100_4365

The guy on the back in this gondola started waving at me when he saw I had the camera, while he was rowing. It was funny!! He looked like he was struggling with the rowing while he was waving. I just had to laugh. Then he started waving harder.

100_4366

And this is McDuck’s General Store. And the New York Deli.

100_4368

100_4371

Then Brother and Sister Logan and Jeremiah on an old fashioned car. And the steering wheel is on the left side, just like modern day Japanese cars. Then me, Beck, and Jeremiah.

100_4372

100_4374

And one of the shopping buildings there. Then Scrooge kissing Jeremiah.

100_4377

100_4378

The Scrooge is rubbing Jeremiah’s head. Then Beck, Donald Duck (I think), me, and Jeremiah (with Sister Logan holding him).

100_4379

100_4381

And the Lighthouse. I think they added this because Disney Sea is right next to the ocean. I mean, we could look over the wall and see the ocean and we even saw some ships passing by. Then we have the old-fashioned looking train.

100_4382

100_4384

And me with Mr. Incredible. Then me and Beck waiting in line for the Indiana Jones ride.

100_4387

100_4391

And Tinker Bell. Can you believe that there was actually a 35 MINUTE WAIT to see this girl. Well, I did the shortcut and just got a picture OF her and not WITH her. And then me and Beck again.

100_4395

100_4398

And this was after we got into the actual Indiana Jones building. It looked kind of cool, almost like an archeology dig or something with all the shovels they had and all that other stuff.

100_4404

100_4406

And this, although it is kind of blurry, is the picture that was taken toward the end of the ride. They had this big ball that was rolling toward us and Indiana Jones was hanging above us. Then we dropped. Brother Logan was like, “No!!! This is turning into a roller coaster!!! (He DOES NOT like roller coasters!)” But it was all good. It ended right after the drop.

100_4411

And this was the cheap way to get our pictures. They were like Y 1,200 to buy, or roughly a little more than $12.00. So I took they cheap way out of it. And it probably looks just as good.

Well, this is all I will put in this entry. I still have a ton of pictures left, but I will just do a second entry on Disney Sea. So you HAVE to come to see what all else happened at Disuni Shi!!!

Ja mata!!!

Disuni Shi II

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Hello Everyone!!!

In this entry I will be concluding about our trip to Disney Sea. So, here’s what happened….ummm where did I leave off??? Oh yes, the last thing I did was about the four of us and Brother Logan on the Indiana Jones ride.

Now, here is a picture of some more old fashioned cars.

100_4412

100_4413

100_4414

100_4415

Then Jeremiah was sleeping while we got some lunch. Then me and Beck. Well, it was supposed to be, but I only got half of my head.

100_4417

100_4419

Then a better shot of me and Beck. Then Beck. Actually, without Beck knowing, Brother Logan went and did a little pose back behind Beck. I don’t know if you can see it or not, but you’ll just have to look very close.

100_4422

100_4426

Then moi! And then the both of us again.

100_4427

100_4428

And Thumper, from Bambi. And Thumper’s wife was out there but I couldn’t get a picture of her. And Brother Logan brought up something I hadn’t thought about. What was Thumper’s wife’s name? Was it Thumpette?   Okay, just kidding!!!   We were all laughing and joking about that. We thought it was funny.

100_4429

While we were waiting in line for the Stormrider, which by the way was kinda cool/funny, Mickey Mouse ( I think that is supposed to be him) and Goofy. Or maybe it’s Goofy’s grandpa.

100_4435

And then, on the way to the Tower of Terror, we stopped and watched these guys that were playing the drums on trash cans and pots and pans. They were so funny!!!  The one guy looked like Brother Mills (for everyone back home in Dayton). But they were SO HILARIOUS!!!! They also spoke very good Japanese. They were doing a mixture of English (which was most of it) and Japanese. I’ll try later to get some pictures from the video that I took and I’ll put them in a later blog entry.

Now for the next part; this was on the way DOWN from the Tower of Terror. Sister Logan was laughing ALL the way down. And I was sitting next to Brother Logan, who was asking at each stop, “Are we getting ready to drop? Is this it? Now are we dropping?” Then it fell. It was AWESOME!!! Just as good as when we did it Charlesee!!  And look at how they have the little characters at the bottom.

100_4441

Next we stopped at a little show that was happening at the Colombia, this huge ship (fake I think) that was almost right in the actual ocean. I’ll do pictures from that video later along with the other.

Then we stopped at another show where I did get a few pictures and a video. There were these big floats, or boats or something with all the fairies from the Tinker Bell series and then another one came out with all the Mickey Mouse characters on it; Mickey and Minnie, Pluto, Marie from Aristocats, Chip and Dale, someone I don’t know in the front, and then a bunch of fish on the back. There were 3 on each side of the ships.

100_4446

100_4451

100_4452

100_4459

100_4462

And here is where you can really tell how many people were there. They were like EVERYWHERE!!! As far as the eye could see, there were people.

100_4455

100_4456

100_4457

100_4463

Then Beck and Jeremiah. Then Jeremiah. I think he had just got done eating a gold fish or something.

100_4468

100_4469

Then me and Beck, with Beck trying to look mad. Then us again, with what Sister Logan said, “AWWWE!!! Sisterly love. Look at the love going out.”

100_4471

100_4472

And this is the Indiane Jones thing where the ride took place at. This was taken on the way to the Raging Spirits roller coaster, which by the way had a 360 degree loop. That was AWESOME!!!! ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!

100_4482

Now these last few were all taken on our way back to the bus. We didn’t even make it to two different parts of the park; the Mermaid Lagoon and Arabia, which both looked fun. I have no clue what they are but I just thought it looked pretty at night. The first few were in Arabia.
100_4484

100_4485

100_4486

100_4488

And here are a few shots of the Mermaid Lagoon area.

100_4493

100_4495

100_4496

Then a little waterfall that we passed leaving the Earth centered area. I thought it was pretty until I saw the sharks at the top.

100_4497

Then everything lit up. Then, I have no idea what this is supposed to be, but it looked real pretty, so I got a picture of it.

100_4508

100_4511

And last but not least, the world, lit up at night.

100_4513

Okay, I decided to go ahead and get a FEW pictures from the first show thing that we watched, where they guys were playing the drums on the trash can and pots and pans. But I only got a few because the video is 11 minutes long. So here those are.

First, they are setting all of their things up after they say “Konnichi wa” to everyone. Then the taller guy looks over at someone in the crowd and runs over to her and say, “Oh my bee-you-ti-ful lady. Desho.” Deshomeans like “isn’t it (it refering to whatever you are talking about; could be him or her or they) It was SO FUNNY!!!

100_4516

100_4517

Then the one guy, Brother Mill’s twin, introducing them. Then Donald Duck making his grand entrance.

100_4518

100_4519

Then Donald posing after playing a little 3 second long intro. Then all the guys playing. Sorry you can’t see the one tall guy. He was behind Brother Mills’ twin.

100_4520

100_4521

and I have to tell you something about these guys. They were all getting into it. It was so funny to watch. And during one of the little things they did, the tall guy went over to Jeremiah and Jeremiah just grinned!! It was SO cute!!!

Well, everyone, this is all I have to show you. I hope to get many more picture here very soon. I hope you all enjoy this.

Thanks so much for coming and reading our blog entries.
